Comparison Of The 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen With the 9th Gen Intel Core can the 3rd Gen Ryzen Win?

If you are confused about which processor to buy the Intel Core or the AMD Ryzen then this post is for you

In this post, We will compare the 3rd Generation of the AMD Ryzen lineup with the 9th Generation of the Intel Core lineup

AMD Ryzen 5 vs Intel Core i5

Starting off with the Ryzen5-3600x vs Intel Core i5-9600K

The Intel Core i5-9600K has 6 cores and 6 threads with a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 4.6 GHz, a 9 MB Cache and a TDP of 95 Watt, it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2666 MHz, supports PCIe Gen 3.0.

The Ryzen5-3600X Also has 6 core but has 12 threads with a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 4.4 GHz, a 32 MB cache and a TDP of 95 Watt, it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz, supports PCIe Gen 4.0.

Both of these chips are priced similarly, looking at the specs Ryzen5-3600X has a clear advantage over the core i5-9600K having more threads resulting in better multicore performance, a larger cache, and supports PCIe gen 4.0. However, this is also to be noted that the TDP value given by intel is for the time when all the cores are working at the base frequency, while that AMD is when all the cores are running at the turbo boost, again giving an edge to the AMD, and one more thing is the AMD’s Processor is Factory Unlocked, however, due to having a greater turbo clock speed, Core i5 is getting the advantage of performing better in games.
If Your priority is gaming then go for the Core i5
But if you do work which require multithreaded performance Like CAD/CAM, Photoshop, Premiere pro and alike Then go for the Ryzen5-3600X

Ryzen 7 vs Core i7

Next will the Ryzen7-3700X vs The Intel Core i7-9700K

The Intel Core i7-9700K has 8 cores and 8 threads with a base frequency of 3.6 GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 4.9 GHz, a 12 MB Cache and a TDP of 95 Watt, it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2666 MHz, supports PCIe Gen 3.0

The Ryzen7-3700X Also has 8 core but has 16 threads with a base frequency of 3.6 GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 4.4 GHz, a 32 MB cache and a TDP of 65 Watt, it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz, supports PCIe Gen 4.0.

They suffer the same fate as that of previously compared AMD and Intel

Gaming goes to the Intel, Heavy task goes to the AMD
however, it may be noted that in some games the AMD performs better than the intel, more on the games running on the direct X11

Ryzen 9 vs Core i9

Now for the table leaders the flagships the core i9-9900k vs the Ryzen 9 3900x

The Intel Core i9-9900K has 8 cores and 16 threads with a base frequency of 3.6 GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 5.0 GHz, a 16 MB Cache and a TDP of 95 Watt, it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2666 MHz, supports PCIe Gen 3.0

The Ryzen9-3900X has 12 core 24 threads with a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 4.6 GHz, a 64 MB cache and a TDP of 65 Watt, it can support up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz, supports PCIe Gen 4.0.

and the Same story follows here, pricing is also very similar for both of the processor, however, if you are buying in India you may find the 3900X a bit costlier because of some extra taxes, but in the US market they are priced very closely

Conclusion

The final verdict is that if your primary focus is on the gaming and gaming only then go for intel
But if you want to do some heavy tasking like CAD/CAM, premiere pro, after effects, or wants to have a workstation and Gaming then Go for the AMD Ryzen 3rd Gen processor

The intel processors perform better than the AMD in gaming but not by a huge margin but when it some comes to multithreaded work and the margin between AMD is Intel is huge giving an advantage to the AMD
