So Folks the AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU’s are here, they are 7nm Zen 3 based chips, and are the successors to the Ryzen 3000 series chips.
The Ryzen 3000 series was already competing head-on with the Intel 10th gen, defeating it in almost every task other than gaming.
Gaming was the only weak point for the Ryzen 3000 Series Chips, but with the Ryzen 5000 series Chips, its gonna change, the 5000 series, thrashes their intel counterparts in all the tasks out there be it gaming, editing, rendering, CAD/CAM, you name it and Ryzen 5000 thrashes the Intel.
There are 4 New Chips in the AMD Ryzen 5000 Series.
1) Ryzen 5 5600X, Sucessor to the Ryzen 5 3600X and its Intel Counterpart is Intel Core i5-10500K.
2) Ryzen 7 5800X, Sucessor to the Ryzen 7 3800X, and its Intel Counterpart is Intel Core i7-10700K.
3) Ryzen 9 5900X, Successor to the Ryzen 9 3900X, and its Intel Counterpart is Intel Core i9-10900K,
And Finally the Best in this series as of now, the Ryzen 9 5950X, Successor to the Ryzen 9 3950X.
Also As of Now, there is no information on the Release of any Non-X CPUs, but it’s pretty sure that will be released in near future.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
The RYzen 5 5600X is an entry-level chip in the Ryzen 5000 series, well it’s an entry-level until the time Ryzen 3 5000 comes but there is a significant amount of time before that.
The Ryzen 5 5600X is a 7nm Zen 3 Based chip with 6 Core and 12 Threads with a base clock of 3.7GHz and a boost clock of 4.6GHz. it has 3 MB of L2 Cache, and 32MB of L3 Cache, that’s a hell lot of cache memory as compared to its intel counterpart the Intel Core i5-10600K which has only 12MB of cache, It has a TDP of 65W.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
The Ryzen 7 5800X is the successor to the Ryzen 7 3800X, which brings in the question of where is the successor to the Ryzen 7 3700X, there is no 5700X this time, well it may launch in the future, or AMD may decide to go just with one variant as it gets confusing sometimes choosing between the Chips.
The Ryzen 7 5800 is a 7nm Zen 3 based chip with 8 Cores and 16 Threads, with a base clock of 3.8GHz and a boost clock of 4.7Ghz it has 4MB of L2 Cache and 32MB os L3 Cache, for comparison the Intel Core i7-10700K has 16MB of cache, it has 105W TDP.
Ryzen 9 5900X is the successor to the Ryzen 9 3900X, it a 12 cores 24 thread CPU with a base clock of 3.7GHz and a boost clock of 4.8GHz, it has 6MB of L2 cache and 64MB of L3 Cache, it has TDP of 105W.
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
Ryzen 9 5950X, is the Flagship Chips in the Ryzen 5000 series and is the successor to one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, consumer Desktop CPU, the Ryzen 9 3950X, its a 16 Core 32 Thread CPU with a base clock of 3.4GHz and a boost clock of 4.9GHz, it has 8MB of L2 cache and 64MB of L3 Cache.
Counter Strike:Global Offensive
The Graphs are True even the Base $299, Ryzen 5 5600X outperforms the $499 flagship from Intel, the Intel Core i9-10900K.
And not by a small margin, that’s over 200FPS More.
Here the Ryzen 5 5600x is behind the Core i9-10900K just by 1 FPS, and I don’t think that the $200 Price difference justifies just 1 FPS Gain.
Ryzen 5 5600X have the same FPS as that of the Core i9-10900K
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
Ryzen 5 5600X, easily beats the Core i9-10900K.
So in gaming even the entry level Ryzen 5 5600X, pretty much thrashes the Intel Gaming Flagship, just some time back Intel was advertising there Core i9-10900K as the best Gaming CPU, out ther, at that time they never would have thought that a Chip almost half price would beat it so hard.
Now Lets see some productivity Benchmarks
So Now Coming to the CineBench R20, the Intel Core i9-10900K Competes with the Ryzen 9 5900X, in terms of pricing, but if we go by the specs, the Ryzen 7 3800X, is pretty close to the Core i9-10900K, and the Ryzen 9 5900X is out of reach for the 10900K.
In POV-Ray also, the same thing happens, the Ryzen 7 5800X competes with the Core i9-10900K, and the 5900X is out of reach for the 10900K.
Same Thing happens in V Ray Also.
Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop(PugetBench)
The Same Story in Adobe Softwares, the Ryzen 9 5900X is way ahead of the competition, and there is nothing reaching the Ryzen 9 5950X, and the Flagship from Intel is Betten by the Entry Level Chips From AMD.
The Big Upgrade
So you may be wondering, why is there such a big upgrade, when there is only an increase in core clock, and every other thing looks the same, the answers lie in pure engineering.
As you can see in the image above, in the Zen 2 Based CPUs or the Ryzen 3000 Series CPUs, there 8 Core die was partitioned into 2 Four Core Dies and the 32MB L3 Cache was also partitioned into two 16MB L3 Cache, but in the Zen 3 CPU’sor the Ryzen 5000 Series CPUs, there is no partition between inside the 8 Core die, and also there is a full 32MB L3 Cache.
So now all the 8 cores can access the L3 Cache without the extra latency involved in splitting it up, and can also communicate between them without the extra latency involved when the Dies were partioned.
Thermal Output and Power Usage
There was no Extra Thermal Output or Power usage as copared to the Ryzen 3000 sereis, and most of the time the power usage and thermal output was the same or lower than the Ryzen 3000 Chips, and Ryzen 5000 series also had better sustained peak Core Clock as compared to the Ryzen 3000 chips.
Ryzen 5000 series is compatible with the recommended AMD 500 series sockets, and also with 400 series sockets, but for the 400 sockets, we will have to wait until the next BIOS Update.

So The Ryzen 5000 series need the same power as that of the Ryzen 3000 and even gives out lower heat, and a better peak core clock, all this while performing an average of almost 20% better than them.
And When compared to their Intel counterparts, there was no comparison, it was a pure thrashing, even the Entry Level Ryzen 5 5600X was beating the Flagship Intel Core i9-10900K, in gaming and Adobe Creative Could Softwares, and most of the times the Ryzne 9 5900X was so out of reach of the Core i9-10900K, that it was competing with the Ryzen 7 3800X.
So up until now, at least there was gaming where Intel was winning, but with the Ryzen 5000 series, Intel lost its gaming lead and that too very badly.
