Asus ROG-G531GT – Review

If Previous Year someone asked me to suggest a ROG laptop Then The lowest Price would have been somewhere around 120000 INR, but this year it has changed, This year Asus has launched a laptop which is under 100000 INR and is pretty powerful, The ASUS ROG G531G.

Asus ROG-G531GT - Review 11

As Always Lets Start with the looks and aesthetics, the body is plastic made but feels good and the gradient finish on the top with rough looks is just cherry on the cake, on the back one can see the vents, which are good and does a good job in providing air to keep the machine cool, on the top there is also the ROG logo, this machine, however, looks smaller than an average 15 inch laptop due to thin bezels and also lacks a num pad if that is of some matter to you, overall the design looks and aesthetics feels good.
For Display, it has a 15 inch, 120 Hz IPS-LCD display, and the colors look amazing in it, very good display.

So coming to the main thing the performance, for the price segment it comes in it can easily qualify as a beast, The i7-9750H with base clock of 2.6 GHz and turbo boost up to 4.5 GHz with 12 MB of Cache based on 14 nm process, coupled with Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1650 graphics with 4 GB of VRAM having a boost clock of 1665 MHZ and memory speed of 8 Gbps, having 896 Cuda cores and offering up to 70% more performance than the GTX 1050, the performance is very good and it handles everything perfectly fine.
In terms of memory, it comes with 8 GB of DDR4 Ram and is upgradable up to 32 GB and it has 512 GB PCIe NVMe Drive which is blazing fast and there is an extra slot for an HDD if you want to put one. The gaming performance was very good easily reaching 150 FPS in CS: GO, maintaining around 70 FPS in Apex with High Settings and around 50 FPS in Assassin Creed: Origins.
Now coming to Thermals this machine has 2 fans, one each side and there are a lot of vents for air intake and exhaust, this machine easily handles high temperature and has very good thermals.

Coming to Battery life it has 3 cell battery, and while doing normal tasks it easily lasted for around 4 hours and while gaming around 1.5-hour max

Now Keyboard, the keyboard lacks a Numpad but I am pretty sure most of the people who are going to buy it will surely buy an extra keyboard for gaming purpose, there is very little flex on the keyboard and the key travel distance is comfortable, It has RGB backlighting with Aura sync enable which can be used to have different profiles of the lighting.

So the ports, it has 3 USB 3.1 type a Ports, an RJ 45 Ethernet Port and an HDMI port
Overall For a Price Point of Around 75000 INR( in Sales), this is one of the best laptops in this price segment.
