Recent times for Intel is not very good; they are loosing in almost every segment, out there, be it Mobile, Dekstop, or HEDT, AMD was able to thrash the Intel, in all the segment, but Finally Intel has some good news, with there Intel Core i7-1165G7, the Core i7-1165G7 ties with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U in Time Spy CPU Score despite having half the cores while its Xe iGPU batters the Vega 7 and Vega 8 competition.
Intel Core i7-1165G7 Time Spy CPU Score
With the Ryzen 4000 series, it was looking like, Intel will entirely lose the Mobile segment market to the AMD, as the Comet Lake was struggling to keep up with the Renoir series.
But with the Tiger Lake series, there is still a chance for intel, especially in terms of the Gen12 Xe iGPU.
We have Time Spy CPU Scores from both the Tum_Apisak and _rogame for the Intel Core i7-1165G7.
Intel Core i7-1165G7 has 4 cores and 8 threads, and it rivals the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U; for the comparison, it was pitted against the Ryzen 7 4700U, Ryzen 7 4800U and Ryzen 9 4900HS.
Usually, the 4800U and the 4900HS were quickly able to dominate the Core i7-1165G7, but it was able to defeat the Ryzen 7 4700U, with a slight margin.
5302(AMD) vs. 5,304(Intel), also the 1165G7 has a 28 W TDP and was paired with a fast LPDDR4x 4266 MHz Ram, while the 4700U was tested with a default TDP of 25 W.
So the CPU Score may not be that impressive, and in standard configuration, the Intel may again loose to the AMD, but what’s surprising is the GPU score.
The Xe Integrated Graphics for the Intel Core i7-1165G7, it was able to beat the Vega 7 in 4700U by almost 36% margin, the Vega 8 in 4800U by 18% and also the Ryzen 9 4900Hs by 15%, well ignore the 4900Hs one as nobody would use the integrated graphics on the 4900HS.
But Still, in terms of discrete graphics, the Xe iGPU on Core i7-1165G7 is excellent and should offer excellent gaming experience considering the Thin and Light notebook segment.
