Specification Details

Design and Build Quality

There is a huge change in design from the OnePlus 8 to OnePlus 8T; on the back, the top center camera module is not shifted towards the top left and is now vertical rectangular instead of the circular rectangular on the 8, also now; it has dual flash, and there is an OnePlus logo on the center, on the front, we still have the punch hole camera on the top left, but now we a flat display, not a curved display.
Build quality is the same; both the front and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and it has an Aluminium Frame.

Excluding the Fact that the OnePlus 8T has a Flat display instead of the curved on the 8 there a huge difference between the 8T and 8, the 8T has a 120Hz refresh rate display.
It has a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED Display, with a native resolution of 1080X2400 Pixels, a 20:9 Aspect Ratio, Pixel Density of 402 PPI, and ~87% Screen to body ratio, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, supports HDR 10+ content and has 120Hz Refresh Rate display.

OnePlus 8T is powered by the First Half 2020 Flagship SoC from Qualcomm the Snapdragon 865, it is an Octa-Core Soc with 1×2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585 cores and is coupled with Adreno 650 GPU.
This is one of the most powerful SoC, available as of now, but it’s the same one powering the vanilla 8, it would have been better if it was powered by the 865+, but 865 is also an excellent SoC.

Memory and Storage

OnePlus 8T has 2 Memory options 8/12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 2 Storage options 128/256GB of UFS3.1 Storage.

OnePlus 8T has a Quad Camera setup.
48 MP, f/1.7(Wide Lens) OIS{Sony IMX 586}
16 MP, f/2.2(Ultrawide Lens)
5 MP, f/2.4, (Macro Lens)
2 MP, f/2.4(Depth Lens)

Video Recording Options include
[email protected]/60fps, [email protected]/60/240fps

For Selfies, it has a 16 MP, f/2.4(Wide Lens)

The worst thing about the optics is that it is still using the IMX 586 sensor, its the same sensor used in the OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 8 and now in 8T.

OnePlus 8T has a 4500mAh battery and has fast 65-W Warp charging support, capable of going from 0 to 100% in around 40 mins.

Sadly there is no wireless charging option, and when a smartphone is priced at around $750, something like wireless charging is expected from it, even if there are many people out there who don’t use it now, but given its price point, it should have wireless charging options.

OnePlus 8 Audio Features include
Dual Stereo Speakers
Noise cancellation support
Dolby Atmos

OnePlus 8T has In-display Fingerprint Sensor and
Face-Unlock support

It is running on OxygenOS 11, on top of Android 11.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

OnePlus 8T does not have the 3.5mm headphone Jack.
It has support for 5G, WiFi 6. Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC.
It Doesn’t have any IP Rating

OnePlus 8T Price in India

Rating: 4 out of 5.

OnePlus 8T is priced at $749 for the 8/128GB model these are international pricing, but in India the prices are different.
8GB RAM+128GB Storage – 42,999 INR
12GB RAM+256GB Storage – 45,999 INR

It is priced much better in India and has a much better price to performance ratio in India.

You Can buy the OnePlus 8T From Amazon.

OnePlus 8T is a Good Smartphone, but if you look at other smartphones which it has to compete with, the Google Pixel 5, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, iPhone 12 Mini, all the better than it in one or more aspect, and are all priced the same or cheaper, obviously this not for India, due to the difference in pricing.
The Google Pixel 5, even though lags behind in terms of CPU/GPU Performance, is way ahead in terms of other aspects like build quality, optics, battery life, etc.
The Galaxy S20 FE, the only area where it’s behind is that it has a plastic back.
And the iPhone 12 Mini destroys the 8T in almost every area and is cheaper.

So the OnePlus 8T is a great buy if you are a buyer from India, for any other place I am not sure about it.
