Design and Build Quality

In terms of design, the OnePlus Nord is very different from Standard OnePlus 8. On the back, the camera module is shifter towards the top left from the center, and the gloss finish is also different and it feels more like glass, and is prone to smudges and fingerprint, the back is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
On the front, we have the Dual Punch-hole Camera setup on the top left and a Fluid AMOLED protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Design of the OnePlus Nord is pretty good, and it feels comfortable to hold in hand, but that’s all. The frame is made of plastic, which gives off a cheap feel, seriously at this price point with these specs, there shouldn’t be a problem with a metal frame, but still, we are getting a plastic one

Display

OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-Inch Fluid AMOLED Display, with a screen to body ratio of ~87%, a native resolution of 1080X2400(FHD+) Pixels, an Aspect Ratio of 20:9, a 408 PPI Pixel Density.
The Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, it has a 90Hz Refresh Rate panel and supports HDR10+.

The Screen is excellent, as its an AMOLED 90Hz display, but not the best in this price segment, also some may find an issue as in complete darkness with the lowest brightness, you can see some purplish/greenish tint on the screen.

Performance

The OnePlus Nord is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G an Octa-Core SoC with 1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime & 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver and is coupled with Adreno 620 GPU.

The 765G is great for day to day work, and can easily handle the 90Hz refresh rate on the display, also you can easily play all the heavy games at high settings.
Also, 765G plus OxygenOS does wonders, the response and snappiness of this smartphone are almost comparable to the flagships.

Memory and Storage

OnePlus Nord has 2 memory options 6/8/12 GB of LPDDR4x memory and 3 Storage options 64/128/256GB UFS2.1 Storage.

RAM management is great, and excellent multitasking.

Camera/Optics

OnePlus Nord has a Quad Camera Setup.
48 MP, f/1.8, OIS (Wide Lens){Sony IMX586}
8 MP, f/2.3, (Ultrawide Lens)
5 MP, f/2.4, (Depth Sensor)
2 MP, f/2.4, (Macro Lens).
The Primary camera sensor is the same one as the Standard OnePlus 8, so the camera should perform show hat equal to the OnePlus 8.

Video Recording Options Include
[email protected], [email protected]/60/120fps, [email protected]

For Selfies, we have Dual Punch Hole Camera.
32 MP, f/2.5, (Wide Lens)
8 MP, f/2.5,(Ultrawide Lens).

The Optics are the biggest disappointment in the OnePlus Nord. OnePlus said that the primary camera on the Nord and OnePlus 8 is the same sensor, and yeah, its the same sensor, but the quality difference is of day and night.
Under Normal Lighting conditions, the shots from the primary sensor are pretty good sometimes even comparable to the OnePlus 8, but as soon as the lighting goes down its struggles to keep up, the same is the case with the Ultrawide Sensor.

The shots from the macro sensor are average at best, and the same can be said for the depth sensor, and in some cases, even when using the depth sensor in settings, the shots are being taken from the primary camera.

The Selfie shots are again the same as that of the primary sensors, good in normal lighting, but struggles in indoor/low lighting, but the videos from the selfies camera is fantastic, so a pretty good option for vloggers.

So If you are thinking of buying the Nord, thinking that you will get the same or comparable camera performance to that of OnePlus 8, then you will be disappointed.

Battery

OnePlus Nord has 4115mAh Battery with 30-W Warp Charging Support.

Battery life is excellent on the Nord, it can easily last for around 2 days in normal usage and around 1 day in case of heavy usage.

Audio

Unlike the Standard OnePlus 8, The Nord has a Mono Speaker at the bottom, In terms of Loudness it is excellent one of the loudest mono-speaker out there, but at full volume, it lacks a bit in terms of audio quality.

Security

OnePlus Nord has an under-display fingerprint sensor and also has face unlock options.

The In-Display fringeprint sensor is pretty good, its fast and accurate.

User-Interface

OnePlus Nord is running on OxygenOS 10.5 on top of Android 10.0.

Well simply saying OxygenOS is one of the best if not the best Andriod UI out there.

Extra

OnePlus Nord

It is good in almost every aspect, but I don’t think it has some significant extra features.
It does have support for 5G, but I don’t think that’s useful in India

OnePlus Nord Pricing

OnePlus Nord is Priced at
6GB + 64GB : ₹24,999
8GB + 128GB : 27,999
12GB + 256GB : 29,999.

You Can buy the OnePlus Nord at Amazon, they give the Best price one can get on a genuine OnePlus Nord in India.

Conclusion

The OnePlus Nord is a pretty good smartphone, and moreover at ₹25000, it is one of the best upper-midrange smartphone one can buy as of now if you ignore the flaws in the camera setup, if only OnePlus had gone with their previous choice of using the Dimensity 1000 SoC then it would be a bang for a buck buy, but even with the Snapdragon 765G it is good.
