AMD Ryzen 7 4700U – Finally a good Competition for the U series intel

Earlier this year AMD announced the Zen 2-based Ryzen 4000 APU series at CES 2020, and it was amazing, it was able to beat the 10th gen U series Intel chips like the Core i7-1065G
Now we have also got the consumer laptop Geekbench Benchmarks for these Chips, the laptop used was a Lenovo laptop

According to the Geekbench, the Ryzen 7 4700U was able to score 4,910 in single-core and 21,693 in multi-core.
Ryzen 7 4700U is an 8 core 8 thread CPU with a base clock of 2 GHz and a boost clock of 4.19 GHz.

For Comparision The Core i7-1065G7(4 Core, 8 Threads) scores about 5752 points in single-core and about 18,772 points in multi-core in Geekbench 4. And the Core i7-10710U(6 cores, 12 threads), scores about 5,366 in single-core and 22,182 in multi-core.

Also, it has to be kept in mind that the Ryzen 7 4700U does not have simultaneous multithreading (SMT) while the competing offerings from Intel support HyperThreading

But From the benchmarks it is evident that now Intel has a competitor in the U series or 15W CPU segment and the AMD is capable of Standing up to the Intel in 15W CPU segment, also the Ryzen 7 4700U is a huge step ahead from the Ryzen 7 3700U
