AMD Ryzen 7 4800U – Better than Intel Core i7 -10750H and Core i9-9880H

AMD Ryzen 7 4800U is the Top 15-Watt Processor, in the Ryzen 4000 Renoir series, it was spotted on 3DMark’s Fire Strike benchmark. and is found to be powering the Lenovo Yoga Slime 7, and had a RAM Speed of 4,266 MHz.

AMD Ryzen 7 4800U

Ryzen 7 4800U is an 8 Core 16 Threaded CPU regular base clock of 1.8GHz and a boost clock of 4.2GHz, and a TDP of 15-watt.

Normally it is very difficult to compare the 4800U with another processor as there are almost no 8 core 16 thread processor at 15-Watt, so we compare it with the like of Core i9-9880H, and Core i7-10750H which have a TDP of 45-Watt, but if go by TDP then it is compared with Core i7-1065G7, but the catch is Core i7-1065G7 is a 4 core 8 threaded CPU.

Now Coming to the benchmarks the 4800U performs similar to the 9880H and 10750H and absolutely thrashes the Core i7-1065G7 in 3DMarks’ Fire Strike benchmark.

But is should be taken into account that while the 4800U and 9880H are 8 core 16 threaded CPU, and the Core i7-10750H is 6 core 12 threaded CPU, and the Core i7-1065G7 is a 4 Core 8 Threaded CPU,
But still, the laptops powered by the 4800U are cheaper than the laptops powered by the 1065G7.
So competition seems fair, Also the 4800U is compared with the new Core i7-10875H which is 8 Core 16 threaded CPU with a TDP of 45-Watt, and it does fairly well.

Ryzen 7 4800U

As you can see the scores from Ryzen 7 4800U, Core i7-10750H, and Core i9-9880H are similar with the one from 10750H and 9880H being a just bit higher but it is due there higher clock speed and a much greater TDP.
If we compare the 4800U and 1065G7 then there is a difference of almost 60% with the Ryzen 7 4800 being higher.

So the Ryzen 7 4800U can score the same as that of the Intel Core i7-10750H and Core i9-9880H while consuming much less power.

Things are looking very bad for intel in Laptop Segment, they have already lost to intel in Mid-Budget, Upper-Budget, Premium, Ultra-Premium, Work station, and Server grade, and now Laptop segment is also looking to be going out of hand.
