Design and Build Quality
The Galaxy M21 is almost the same as that of the Galaxy M30S and M31, the back is more similar to the M31, the plain flashy type back instead of the Glossy type back on the M30S. On the back we have the fingerprint sensor, and on the upper left-hand side we have the rectangular camera module, having 3 Lenses, on the front we have the Infinity U- Display, The Back is plastic made, and the frame is also plastic, but still, it feels good in the hand, it is much lighter than other phones with this type of specs, also the build quality is Good, but there are better options in terms of built quality in this price range.
The Galaxy M21 has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Display, with a native resolution of 1080X2340 Pixels, an Aspect Ratio of 19.5:9, Pixel Density of 403PPI, and a Screen to body ratio of ~84%.
The Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Like as always even if there is nothing right in a Samsung smartphone, there will always be the screen which will be great, and here also the screen is great, great colors, contrast, and viewing angles, probably the best screen in this price range.
The Galaxy M21 is Powered, Samsungs inhouse manufactured chipset, the Exynos 9611, the Exynos 9611 is an Octa-core SoC with 4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53, and is coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, well this is the same SoC used in the Galaxy M30, M30S, and the M31, also this is the same chipset used the Galaxy A21, a 25000INR smartphone, I just don’t understand what Samsung is trying to do, with its chipset’s.
Well Whatever, the Exynos 9611 as seen in previous M series Smartphones, is a great chipset for day to day usage, and multi-tasking, chances of seeing a lag is very low, if you want to game on this phone, then it can play the heavy titles, on medium settings, without any visible lag.
Memory and Storage
Galaxy M21 has 2 Options 4/64 GB or 6/128 GB, The Storage is UFS2.1 and RAM is LPDDR4X
Also, there is an option of expanding storage through a dedicated memory card slot.
The multitasking experience was good, with almost no lag.
Galaxy M21 has a Triple Camera setup with the primary camera being a 48 MP, f/2.0 Wide Lens, the third lens is an 8 MP, f/2.2 Ultrawide Lens, the last one is a 5 MP, f/2.2 Depth Sensor.
The Shots from the main camera, under normal lighting conditions, are great, but in low light conditions the performance is just average, the night shots are a large amount of noise.
The ultrawide shots follow the same patterns good in normal lighting.
the portrait shots are great, with pretty good edge detection and great blur effect.
Video Recording options include [email protected], [email protected], at 4K shots there is stabilization, it is a bit shaky but if you use tripod stand then the shots are pretty good, in the 1080P mode it has the super steady feature which makes it very stable, and the video shots are also very good.
for selfies we have a 20MP Wide lens, the selfies are great.
The Galaxy M21 has a monstrous 6000mAh battery with 15 Watt fast charging support, the battery will easily last for around 3 days with moderate usage, however with the 15-watt charger which comes in the box, it will take somewhere around 2.5 hours to fully charge it.
The Galaxy M21 audio is good, the volume is pretty loud, but it lacks a bit of quality, also we get the Dolby Atmos support for headphones.
The Audio Quality Thorugh Headphone is very good
The Galaxy M21 has a physical fingerprint sensor, on the back, which is pretty fast and good, also it has face-unlock and is ok-ish, not that great.
The Galaxy M21 is running on One UI-2 On top of Android 10, the One UI-2 is a pretty good UI and some great features.
The Galaxy M21 has Widevine L1 Support, meaning it can stream HD contents on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and similar apps.
The Galaxy M21 is priced at 12999 for the 4/64 GB version and 14999 for the 6/128 GB version.
The Galaxy M21 is very similar to the M30S, with just some minor changes like selfie camera resolutions and also is priced almost the same, however, the M21 is a better option, than M30S.
This phone has a very good CPU, good camera setup, good build quality, a great battery life. however, in this price range, there are better options, with a better CPU/Camera Combo. However, if you are someone who wants a great Battery life, with a great display in this price range then this phone is for you, also it has the Widevine L1 Support, so a great option for those who watch media on their phone as under 15K segment it will give you the best media watching experience
- Good CPU
- Good Camera Setup
- Very Good Front Camera
- Very Good Display
- Good Built Quality
- Ample Amount of Storage
- Good Audio, however, it lacks a bit of audio quality
(Audio Through headphone is very good)
- Great Battery Life
- Widevine L1 Support
