Snapdragon 460 and amazing upgrade to the Snapdragon 450? let’s see it
Recently Qualcomm Amazed the market by launching the Snapdragon 765 and 765G, they were the worlds cheapest 5G SoC, but in regions like India where 5G is not going to be available for the next few years, there is no use of these processors, as a 5G SoC, to handle this they launched 3 new SoC’s each in different Price segment with a better 4G modem, Wifi 6 and ISRO’s NavIC support, Also there are some new AI components in the Soc’s

This post will be about the Snapdragon 460 and its comparison with the Snapdragon 450

Snapdragon 460, will be available in the low budget smartphone, most probably in the price segment of around 7000INR

CPU

Snapdragon 460 has Kyro 260 octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz and is touted to deliver up to 70% better performance than the existing Snapdragon 450, and also the fact that both the SoC will be priced similarly makes it an amazing upgrade

GPU

In terms of GPU 460 is much ahead of its predecessor, having Adreno 610, as compared to the Adreno 506 in the 450. we will be seeing some great improvements in the GPU department

AI

One of the best things about 460 is, it is providing AI features at this price range, its predecessor doesn’t even have a proper AI Processor, but the 460 has Qualcomm Hexagon 683

Display

In terms of the display, there is not much of an upgrade, it is still [email protected] 60 FPS, but hey who would expect more than that at this price range

Camera/ISP

The camera is one of the biggest upgrades from 460 to 450, having spectra 340, capable of Up to 16MP on dual camera with MFNR, ZSL and Up to 25MP on a single camera with MFNR, ZSL, and also triple-camera support, with features like HEIF and HEIC photo capture it is just amazing

Modem

We are getting Qualcomm X11 LTE Modem on the 460, which is capable of upto 390 Mbps on download and upto 150 Mbps on upload

Charging

There is no change in charging technology, they both have the same Qualcomm quick charge 3.0

Also, we are getting the ISRO’s NavIC, tech on the Snapdragon 460, which will enhance the geolocation capabilities of smartphones in the region and bring the benefits of this indigenous solution to Indian consumers for their day-to-day use

Conclusion

It is as simple as that, recently if you have bought a Snapdragon 450 smartphone then you have done a mistake, the Snapdragon 460 is an amazing processor and is better than its predecessor, snapdragon 450 which by the way was already better than the competition, in almost every possible way and every aspect, plus it is almost going to be at the same price as that of its predecessor
