Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 the Low Mid Budget Soc with ISOR’s NavIC support and Wifi 6
Recently Qualcomm Amazed the market by launching the Snapdragon 765 and 765G, they were the worlds cheapest 5G Soc, but in regions like India where 5G is not going to be available for the next few years, there is no use of these processors, as a 5G SoC, to handle this they launched 3 new Soc’s each in different Price segment with a better 4G modem, Wifi 6 and ISRO’s NavIC support, Also there are some new AI components in the Soc’s

CPU

CPU wise the snapdragon 662 and 665 are the same, having the same core count and clock speed. the Kyro 260, having 4X Cortex A73 clocked at 2GHz and 4X Cortex A53 clocked at 1.8GHz
but the fact that 662 phones will be cheaper than the 665 makes it a plus point for the 662
GPU
Both 662 and 665 have the same GPU, while the clock speed for 662 is still not known and that may affect the performance
AI
665 still has a better AI processor than the 662, no questions there
Display
Again the 665 has better display support than the 662, having an FHD+ in comparison with HD+
Camera/ISP
The camera is an area where the 662 is much better than the 665, it has a much better raw image capturing capability, but still, you are getting more options in the 665, like slow-motion videos till 240FPS, but on the 662 slow motion is available till only 60FPS
Modem
Snapdragon 665 has a better modem than 662, having a peak download speed of 600mbps and the 662 having a peak download speed of 390mbps
Charging
There is no change in charging technology, they both have the same Qualcomm quick charge 3.0
Also, we are getting the ISRO’s NavIC, tech on the 662, which will enhance the geolocation capabilities of smartphones in the region and bring the benefits of this indigenous solution to Indian consumers for their day-to-day use
Conclusion
Snapdragon 662 is great Soc on paper, having almost same specs as that of the 665 having same CPU/GPU power, but being cheaper, and with Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, ISRO’s NavIC support and better Raw image capturing capabilities
it is really going to be a great option at the 10000INR price segment
