I am sure everybody knows the name Vivo as a brand which is famous for giving a camera and music-oriented smartphone, but his time it is a bit different, this time they tried going for an all-rounder.
The Vivo U20
This review is about the Vivo U20
So as always let’s start with the looks and design
this phone has a plastic body, with gradient finish, and the body feels plastic doesn’t have a glass back and honestly it doesn’t feel premium but that is not expected for a phone in this price segment, for protection it has Panda MM228 Hardened glass which is as claimed by the company to be harder than the Corning’s gorilla glass 5, well that can only be test in the toughness test, overall the phones have great looks for a phone in this price segment.
It has 6.53 Inches IPS-LCD display with 1080X2340 pixels which means a full HD display with 19.5:9 ratio and the display is very good produces some colors and contrast, the display is one of the best LCD display in this price segment.
So Next will the performance this phone has snapdragon 675 SOC which has 2X2.0 GHz kyro 460 Gold and 6X1.7 GHz kyro 460 Silver chips, coupled with Adreno 612 GPU and up to 6 GB of RAM with 64 GB UFS 2.1 Storage, this phones performs great in this price segment and can easily be said the best performing phone in this price segment, there were no lags in day to days task’s and is able to play heavy games at medium to high setting. Performance on this phone is one of the best or can be the best in this price segment.
Now for the optics, this phone has a triple camera setup with the primary being a 16 MP wide lens with f/1.8 aperture, the second one is an 8 MP ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture and the third one is a 2 MP macro sensor, the primary camera give very good, more on the great side in normal daylight conditions, the colors are pretty accurate and has very good dynamic range, in low light also the performance is satisfactory and produces some above-average shots, the ultrawide is also very good, THe macro camera produces some great shots, the only problem can be said in the portrait mode, but that problem can be solved by the software updates hopefully Vivo does that, but overall the rear camera setup gives out more natural shots when compared to its competitors, video recording can be done up to 2160P @30FPS. for selfies, it has 16 MP lens with f/2.0 aperture the selfie are very good and produces very natural shots, but here also the portrait could have been better.
Overall if the portrait problem can be solved, which can be solved by the software updates, then this phone has one of the best camera setups in this price segment.
Now for the Extra, so lets start with the Battery life, this phone has 5000 mAh Battery, the battery life is great , will easily last for 2 days for normal users and around 1 day for heavy users and also has a 18 watt charger in the box, reverse charging is also available in this phone meaning one can charge other phones by connecting to this phone.
the Audio quality is above average and has high volumes.
The UI used is Fun touch OS 9 which is based on android 9, this UI is more IOS oriented, it all comes down to the likes of the users.
for security it has a fingerprint sensor on the back and is pretty good, and also has face-unlock.
Overall this phone is kind of a complete package for a price of around 11000 INR for the 4/64 GB variant and 12000 INR for the 6/64 Gb variant.
